Autumn term’s College Open Events

We recently held our annual College Open Day and Evening, giving students a chance to see what the college had to offer. The event welcomed students aged 16–19 and their families, offering them a closer look at the courses, support, and opportunities available at Gateway College.

During the event, the college Street was filled with subject stands, information tables, and activities. Visitors were able to meet the Additional Learning Support (ALS) team, learn about transport and financial support, and speak to staff members from our GCSE and Level 1 Maths and English courses. The Careers and Employability team offered advice on future pathways, work placements, and even ran a prize draw for a £50 Amazon gift card.

Did you know, that many of the courses we offer at Gateway College are in the top 10% nationally for achievement and progress, with some ranked number one in the country.

There were plenty of interactive activities that reflected a taste of the variety of subject pathways in our curriculum. At the A Level Law and Level 3 Criminology stand, Open Event attendees attempted to solve a mock crime scene by examining clues and suspects. Media Studies showcased a drone demonstration, while the T Level Early Years and Education team led guided tours of their brand new nursery teaching facility. Many families said they liked how friendly and helpful the staff and student ambassadors were.

“There’s no need any improvements because it was perfect, and we like the subjects. Thank you for your help.”
