Gateway College Showcases Outstanding Creativity

End of Year Art and Design Exhibition

open from Tuesday 20th June – Wednesday 28th June

Creative Arts and Media Students from Gateway Sixth Form College have opened their End of Year Art and Design Exhibition on Tuesday 20th June 2023, and it will stay open to the public to visit during College hours until Wednesday 28th June.

This free event takes place at the College.  Work on display has been selected from across the visual and creative arts faculty to showcase the breadth and standard of work created by students studying OCR vocational courses, A Levels, T levels and the Pre-Degree Foundation Diploma and includes, Photography, Fashion and Textiles, Illustration, Fine Art, Product Design, Graphics, Next Gen Game Art and Games Development, Media and Animation.

The exhibition expects visitors from across the city and county including friends and family, former students and staff, funders and partners from local businesses, universities and community organisations.

For some students, this will be the first time they have shared their work in a public exhibition, for others, this will be the last time that they show their work at the College as they head off for university, a higher degree apprenticeship or related employment.

Students and teaching staff are on hand to answer any questions about the variety of courses available, the work displayed and progression routes previous students have taken.  Work can also be purchased at the exhibition.

Head of the Creative Arts Department, Gareth Watts, is celebrating the tremendous achievements of both staff and students, he says, “It’s been a real privilege to witness the commitment and dedication that has gone into all of these artworks.  We are proud to work closely with industry professionals to provide our students with the very best platform for their future.  We are confident of maintaining our reputation for excellence in the Creative Arts and hope our visitors will enjoy this stunning exhibition.”
