Assessment of A Level year one :

The English Legal System and Law-Making.

Criminal Law.

Assessment of A Level year two :

Tort Law.

Contract Law or Human Rights Law.

Course Overview

A robust legal system is the foundation of a fair society. If you feel strongly about concepts such as justice and equality then this could be very rewarding for you. The course will enable you to develop an understanding of how law is made and operates in the UK. You will take part in classroom discussions, carry out independent study, and write essays and present information to the group. The course is enhanced with trips including a visit to London Houses of Parliament, the Old Bailey, Supreme Court and Downing Street. Guest speakers include Police Officers, Magistrates and a Judge. Students are encouraged to participate in our Mock Trial, giving an insight into the work of Solicitors and Barristers.

Career Progression

An A Level in Law will enhance chances of being accepted into University to study Law and will introduce core modules that are embedded into a Law degree. However, it will also enable you to study a range of other subjects. A-Level Law is a rigorous academic subject that will be a valuable addition to your CV and will also enable you to study a range of other subjects at University.
