Many students progress onto Accountancy, Finance or Business degrees or will enter employment and have access to further study of professional accountancy qualifications.
This A’ level is a two year course.
Exam board is AQA
Maths at Grade 5+, English Language at Grade 5+ and a minimum of three more GCSE’s at grade 4 or above.
All exams are at the end of two years of study
Paper 2 – 3 hours written exam, 120 marks, 50% of the A-Level
Students will demonstrate a good understanding of the double entry model and accounting principles and concepts as these forms the foundation of all financial accounting techniques. Students will also need to demonstrate quantitative skills that are relevant to the subject. Students will be expected to demonstrate knowledge of the formulae used for computations, carrying out computations and use the results of computations to inform judgements, solve problems and make decisions. Students must focus their ability to write effectively so that they can report to stakeholders, making logical arguments and providing sound judgements based on analysis of available evidence taking account of financial and non-financial factors.

Representatives from financial services visit the classes to explain progression and apprenticeships in the financial sector. Additional revision workshops support learners in preparation for exams.
