Gateway College student Sameeha has been selected as a finalist in NCFE’s prestigious Aspirations Awards under the ‘Against All Odds’ category. Currently in her second year of the T Level Health pathway, Sameeha will attend the finalist celebration event this June, where winners will be officially announced.
Sameeha, aged 18, believes her journey into health education is both inspiring and determined. Reflecting on her decision to pursue the NCFE T Level in Health, she admits she hadn’t heard of T Levels initially. However, after visiting Gateway College and experiencing the Health Suite, she was drawn to the hands-on and engaging style of learning.

“I wanted a course that would support me in working in health,” Sameeha explains. “When I visited Gateway College, I saw students learning how to care for patients in the simulated ward. I was impressed by how they were applying their knowledge – doing skin tissue assessments, interpreting ECGs, and learning about heart disease.”
It was this combination of academic learning and real-world application that convinced her to enrol. “I chose the T Level Health because I liked the mix of exams and practical assessments. The opportunity to work in a local hospital really helped me get a feel for a career in healthcare.”
Looking to the future, Sameeha plans to continue her journey in healthcare by pursuing a dual qualification in general nursing and mental health nursing at university.
The entire Gateway College community is proud of Sameeha’s achievement and wishes her the very best at the upcoming NCFE Aspirations Awards ceremony.
