Fundraising success for Palestine Heritage Week

Gateway College proudly came together for Palestine Heritage Week, an inspiring, student-led initiative dedicated to raising funds for humanitarian relief and showing solidarity with communities affected by the ongoing crisis.

Led by our incredible students, the week brought together staff and learners from across the college in a powerful display of unity, compassion, and action. Through a vibrant programme of activities and events, the college community raised an outstanding £4,357.15 over the course of the week.

The funds raised have been distributed to the following humanitarian organisations, all of which provide vital aid and support to civilians in need:

  • Save the Children International
  • Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)
  • Islamic Relief Worldwide
  • UNRWA
  • Humanity Without Borders
  • One Nation UK

These organisations focus on delivering essential relief, including food, medical care, and emergency assistance to those affected by the crisis.

Throughout the week, students and staff took part in a wide range of engaging activities, including fresh food stalls, handmade art displays, henna, and other fun and meaningful experiences. Highlights of the week included:

  • Staff vs Student Basketball and Table Tennis
  • Open Mic Performances
  • A Sponsored Silence
  • “Guess the Staff Member” baby photo challenge

Each activity helped foster a sense of community while encouraging generosity and awareness.

The Fundraising Team is delighted with the outcome, which is a true credit to everyone who gave their time, energy, and donations so generously. Every contribution played a part in making a real difference.

Thank you to everyone in the Gateway College community who attended, participated, and showed their solidarity. Your support and compassion have helped turn collective effort into meaningful impact.
