Psychology is the scientific study of behaviour and experience. It is the study of you, of who you are and why you do what you do. You will develop your knowledge and understanding of psychological theories and studies and enhance your critical thinking skills.
Two years
Plus grade C/5 or above in Maths. Students should also have a grade /5 in a science GCSE subject.
All 3 exams at the end of the 2 years
All units have a 2 hour exam 3 in total

Students are encouraged to apply what they have learnt in class to real life issues such as criminal behaviour, eating disorders and obedience to authority. You will carry out investigations in areas such as criminal behaviour, sex and gender and perception.
Careers that you will be able to progress into include Clinical Psychology, Educational Psychology, Occupational Psychology, Health Psychology, Teaching, Human Resources, Journalism, Management, Marketing and Advertising.
Our research shows that students who study ‘A’ level Psychology along with science or other academic ‘A’ levels are more likely to achieve a high grade in Psychology. You may be able to go on trips and attend seminars to further your understanding.
