Our annual Spring Term event welcomed a wonderful 180 visitors. There was a buzzing atmosphere around the college as we showcased our sixth form provision to its highest potential through displays, stands, presentations and lots of information
Across the building, subjects were demonstrated by teachers in the classrooms. These subjects ranged from Science, Maths, Creative Art, Humanities and Health, Games, I.T and more.
The Street proved to be a great success with the stalls located there. Much of our T Level information was available at a stall in this area. The Media and Next Gen Games courses attracted significant interest, particularly due to the award-winning student games and animations. Our T Level courses bring education and the working world together.
Information about GCSE maths and English was also available on the Street as well as classrooms that were open for all of our visitors to look around. Did you know that our results for GCSE English and GCSE maths are in the top 10% of the country nationally?

In the Theatre, multiple sessions of different presentations took place, including a talk with the Senior Leadership Team, an introduction to our supported internship programme called ‘Project Search’ and the Entry to Work team, and the brand new ‘Power Up Project’. These detailed talks provided our visitors with valuable information about being part of Gateway College. One of the greatest successes of the evening was the Iftar Area, which was set up for students, staff and our event attendees to break their observed fast, during Ramadan. We wanted our visitors to continue learning about the activities we provided and to enjoy their evening with us.
Feedback from the event was incredibly positive, read a bit more about some of the thoughts:
‘The staff did a fantastic job presenting their courses, and many visitors gained detailed knowledge about the subjects they were interested in studying’
‘All queries were answered, and information about how subjects are taught throughout the year was thoroughly explained’
‘Throughout the Open Evening, both staff and student helpers were extremely friendly and helpful’

We aim to provide an opportunity for everyone to visit our college and determine if it is the right place for them.
